Tradecraft Cigars Shinobi — An All-Viso Tribute to Japan's Shadow Warriors Now Available Mid-October
Posted on October 06 2026
The fourth core-line release from Rob Blumenthal's history-obsessed brand takes its name from the Shinobi, the trained operatives of feudal Japan whose methods were written down in texts like the Shoninki. Pre-orders are open now for a mid-October ship date.
Shinobi joins Gladius, Azorian and Vitruvian in the Tradecraft lineup, rolled by Hostos Quesada at Tabacalera La iSLA in Santiago. What sets it apart is the filler: every one of its four leaves is viso priming, chosen for balance and an even burn.
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra (High Priming)
Binder: Mexican San Andrés
Filler: Nicaraguan Jalapa Viso, Nicaraguan Condega Viso, US Connecticut Broadleaf Viso, Dominican Olor Viso
Strength: Full
Vitola: Gran Robusto (5½ x 52)
Price: $70.38 (5 Pack) / $168.91 (Box of 12)
Ships: Mid-October 2026
The oily Sumatra wrapper opens with coffee and cocoa powder before cinnamon and a thread of saffron move in. A steady dark sweetness carries through a slow, even burn, so this one rewards a long sit.
