Martello Cigar Co. Ortolan — A Debut in a Porcelain Jar. Only 750 Made.
Posted on July 14 2026
A brand-new name in the premium cigar world has arrived, and instead of a box it comes packaged in a handcrafted porcelain jar. Martello Cigar Co. is the debut release from Michael Martello Jr., rolled at El Titan de Bronze in Miami, and the Ortolan announces itself as a serious cigar built for collectors who want something rare.
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan, including rare Medio Tiempo leaf
Strength: Full
Vitola: Toro (6 x 50)
Price: $132.60 for a 5-pack, $265.20 for a jar of 10
Ships: Late August
The Medio Tiempo leaf, grown above the ligero priming on fewer than 10% of tobacco plants, gives the Ortolan an intensity most debut blends don't attempt. Expect dark chocolate and espresso up front, with cedar, leather, and earth building through the smoke, and a lingering white pepper finish that confirms the strength in the filler.
