Pete Johnson of Tatuaje has been exploring this idea, experimenting with familiar blends and reimagining them through different wrappers. At this year’s PCA trade show, Tatuaje introduced a selection of cigars dressed in a rare Nicaraguan Corojo-seed wrapper cultivated by the Garcia family. Now enthusiasts can look forward to three limited-edition releases arriving at the end of the month.

These new cigars highlight how a simple change in wrapper can transform the entire smoking experience. The Garcia-grown Corojo leaf brings depth, spice, and refinement, altering the nuances of each blend while maintaining their original identity. The result is a trio of cigars that invites aficionados to rediscover the artistry of Tatuaje through a bold new lens.

T110: 
The first of the highly anticipated Tatuaje Corojo trio, the T110 Corojo delivers an uncompromising full-bodied smoking experience. Measuring 4 3/8 inches by 52 ring gauge, this powerhouse is crafted entirely from Nicaraguan tobaccos, with a blend that leans heavily on ligero leaves—the strongest and most robust primings of the tobacco plant. The result is a cigar that brims with intensity, offering aficionados a rich, bold smoke that commands attention from the first draw to the last.

Cohete:
The next standout in Tatuaje’s limited-edition Corojo series is the Cohete Corojo, a cigar rooted in the iconic Selección de Cazador line, also known as Brown Label. True to its name, which translates to “rocket” in Spanish, this compact powerhouse measures 4 inches by 50 ring gauge, delivering a concentrated blast of flavor in a shorter format. With the introduction of a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper grown by the Garcia family, the Cohete takes on a new dimension, one that emphasizes bold spice, earthy sweetness, and a perfectly balanced medium-to-full body character.

Avion 13:
Completing the trio of recent Corojo releases, the Tatuaje Avion 13 Corojo offers aficionados a unique take on a beloved format. Unlike the limited-run T110 and Cohete, the Avion 13 joins the regular-production lineup, making it a lasting addition for fans of bold, complex cigars. Measuring 6 7/8 x 52, the Avion 13 is a striking double-tapered perfecto built on the Fausto blend, renowned as the boldest in the Tatuaje portfolio. With a filler and binder designed for strength and intensity, the introduction of a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper brings new layers of spice, earthy sweetness, and balance to an already robust foundation.
