Lure Cigars was founded by Lou Cross III, a brand built around two things his father, Lou Cross Jr., loved deeply: fishing and cigars. Every Lure release is named for and inspired by the people and memories that matter most to the Cross family, with the brand serving as both a tribute to Lou Cross Jr. and a celebration of the things that connected them.

The Codfather is one of the most personal releases Lure has ever produced. The blend was originally commissioned by Lou Cross Jr. himself for his 90th birthday, a small batch figurado that he wanted to share with the people closest to him. Due to delays, the cigars arrived after his passing. They were ultimately smoked by his friends and family at his funeral, a final gift from a man who loved cigars to the people who loved him.

“I have shared the story of how Lure Cigars came about and how this blend was instrumental in moving forward with creating a new brand of cigars nearly three years ago,” said Cross III. Now, that same blend, the one Lou Cross Jr. commissioned for his 90th birthday, has been recreated in a new vitola: a 6½ x 54 Double Toro produced at La Tabacaria Cigars, wrapped in an Ecuadorian Connecticut seed leaf over Honduran and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos.

Mild to medium in body, The Codfather delivers notes of heavy cream, cedar, nuttiness, vanilla, and white pepper, a refined, elegant smoke that honors the man who inspired it. This is not just a cigar. It is a story rolled in tobacco leaf.

Limited to 4,000 cigars, 400 bundles of 10.
