Wrapped in a silky 12-year-aged San Andrés Maduro leaf with binder and filler tobaccos that remain a closely guarded secret — all aged between 5 and 13 years — the 6.25 x 48 Corona Gorda opens with a massive wave of creamy dark chocolate, honeycomb, red oak, and black peppercorn. Espresso, aged leather, and clove follow immediately. The retrohale delivers a spicy pepper burn. The finish lingers on the palate for several minutes with massive sweet and creamy flavors.

As it progresses, clover honey, vanilla bean, and nutmeg emerge alongside café latte, toasted nuts, hints of molasses, and black tea.

Halfway through, the aged tobacco fully asserts itself — big notes of caramel, mocha, custard, and rum barrel. Hints of graham cracker and amaretto. The finish tastes like sugar cookies. There is no other way to say it.
