El Mago Cigars was founded in 2022 by Nick Fusco as a tribute to his grandparents, Maria and Gonzalo Torre, who perished in the collapse of Champlain Towers South in Surfside, Florida. The name El Mago, Spanish for “the magician,” honors their memory, and every release carries the weight of that dedication. The cigars are produced at the MGE Cigars factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, one of the most respected rolling operations in the country.

The James Avenue line was inspired by the James Hotel in Miami Beach, a property that Nick Fusco’s grandfather purchased in 1989 and that remains a family landmark to this day. Each of the four blends reflects a distinct character, and the Maduro is the darkest and most indulgent expression of the four.

The James Avenue Maduro wraps a Mexican San Andrés Maduro leaf around a Sumatra seed binder and Nicaraguan fillers in a 6 x 54 box pressed Toro. The San Andrés wrapper delivers its signature natural sweetness alongside notes of dark chocolate, espresso, dark earth, dried fruit, and a long, creamy finish with a hint of molasses. Bold, rich, and completely satisfying.
