CAO is expanding its best-selling Flathead lineup with a new sub-brand, Flathead Speed Shop Habano, which is set to begin shipping to retailers in February.
The new release features an Ecuadorian habano wrapper paired with a Mexican San Andrés binder and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Like most CAO cigars, Speed Shop Habano is produced at STG Estelí in Nicaragua. The blend is designed to deliver a bold yet approachable profile, staying true to the Flathead identity while offering a slightly different everyday-smoking character.
Speed Shop Habano will debut in three engine-inspired vitolas. The 654 Crankshaft measures 6 1/2 x 54, the V660 Carb is at 6 x 60, while the oversized Big Block, measures at 7 x 70, all sold in boxes of 24. Notably, the 6 1/2 x 54 size marks a brand-new vitola for the Flathead series, which originally launched in 2013.
According to Cory Beardsley, Speed Shop Habano gives CAO a new direction within the Flathead universe, maintaining the line’s bold personality while delivering a cigar meant to be enjoyed regularly. The cigars are expected to start arriving at retailers in February 2026, adding another high-performance option to CAO’s already popular Flathead portfolio.
