For the first time since 2019, Black Works Studio Boondock is heading back to stores. The highly requested limited release from Black Label Trading Co. returns under its Black Works Studio sub-brand, bringing back the same beloved blend with the addition of a new vitola for 2026.

Boondock features a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper layered over a Nicaraguan Habano binder and a complex mix of fillers from Connecticut, Nicaragua, and Pennsylvania. The cigars are handcrafted at Fábrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua, maintaining the bold and distinctive character that made the original releases so popular.

The 2026 lineup includes three vitolas. The Robusto (5 1/4 x 50) and Corona Larga (6 1/4 x 46) both return from prior releases and are each limited to 750 boxes of 20 cigars. Joining them is a brand-new Lancero (7 x 42), limited to just 450 boxes of 20. The addition of the Lancero offers a more focused and refined expression of the blend, delivering a fresh experience for longtime Boondock fans.

After years of anticipation and a brief appearance in last year's BOOMBOX sampler, the full 2026 return of Boondock marks a significant moment for Black Works Studio enthusiasts. With limited production across all sizes and the debut of a new vitola, this release is expected to generate strong demand among collectors and boutique cigar fans alike.

Pennsylvania Broadleaf is a tobacco varietal with deep American heritage — grown in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, it produces a thick, oily leaf with a naturally sweet, earthy character that is distinct from the better-known Connecticut Broadleaf. James Brown's use of PA Broadleaf as the Boondock wrapper reflects Black Works Studio's commitment to exploring American tobacco traditions in a boutique cigar context. Fábrica Oveja Negra in Estelí is one of Nicaragua's most respected independent production facilities, used by several of the most quality-conscious boutique brands in the market. With just 750 boxes of 20 in the Robusto and Corona Larga vitolas, and only 450 boxes of the new Lancero, total production across all three sizes is severely limited — do not wait if you want to smoke this release.
