Properly seasoning a wooden humidor is essential before storing your cigars. Dry wood can pull moisture directly from your cigars and may prevent the humidor lid from sealing properly. In especially dry climates, your humidor may also need to be seasoned again periodically, particularly during the dry winter months.

Boveda 84% RH Seasoning Packs provide a simple and controlled way to season or re season a wooden humidor without wiping the interior with distilled water. Applying water directly to the wood can introduce moisture too quickly and unevenly, potentially causing warping, poor seals, and conditions that encourage mold growth.

Using Boveda takes the guesswork out of the process. Simply place the correct number of 84% RH seasoning packs inside your empty humidor and leave them for 14 days. Once seasoning is complete, remove the 84% RH packs and replace them with your preferred regular Boveda humidity packs between 62% and 75% RH.

Use one seasoning pack for every 25 cigars your humidor is designed to hold. For example, a 100 count humidor requires four seasoning packs.

There is no need to worry about your hygrometer reading during the seasoning process. The humidity of the air inside the humidor does not directly indicate the moisture content of the wood.

While your humidor is seasoning, keep your cigars safely stored in an airtight plastic container or cooler until the 14 day process is complete.
