United Cigars turned the Firecracker into a tradition with its unmistakable 3.5 x 50 short robusto format, originally created around the Fourth of July. Its popularity quickly pushed the concept beyond a single annual release, with new blends, collaborations, and limited editions appearing throughout the years.

For the first Firecracker release of 2022, United Cigars teamed up with Big Papi, David Ortiz's cigar company, for a limited interpretation of the explosive little vitola. A Mexican San Andres wrapper covers a Dominican Negrito binder and a diverse filler blend of Dominican Criollo 98, Nicaraguan Jalapa, and Pennsylvania Broadleaf, creating a medium plus profile packed into the compact Firecracker format.

Production was limited to just 1,000 boxes of 20 cigars, with only 10 boxes personally signed by David Ortiz. Each box also features a QR code that takes owners to a video of Ortiz thanking them for their purchase, adding another unique touch to this collectible Firecracker collaboration.
