Halfwheel named the Alfonso Extra Añejo No. 3 its No. 1 Cigar of 2023!
The Alfonso Extra Añejo Producción Limitada is an exceptional collection from Selected Tobacco, the company behind Atabey, Byron, and Bandolero. Honoring the Alfonso family's cigar making heritage dating back to 1850 in Cuba, this line showcases the meticulous aging and craftsmanship that define the brand.
Each cigar features a 2 year aged Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, a 3 year aged Ecuadorian binder, and Peruvian and Nicaraguan fillers aged for 3 years. Following construction, the cigars undergo an additional 4 years of aging, developing remarkable smoothness, complexity, and balance.
The collection ranges from the more intense, medium plus bodied Añejo No. 1 to the smoother, milder No. 6, with smaller vitolas generally offering greater strength and larger formats delivering a more balanced profile.
The Alfonso Extra Añejo No. 3 earned Halfwheel's No. 1 Cigar of 2023, recognized for its outstanding flavor, construction, draw, and smoke production.
