Valacari Nobility

Valacari Nobility

Vitola: 5.5x54

Cigars Smoked: 2

Smoking Time: 88 minutes

Msrp: $7.20

Body: Medium

Wrapper: San Andres Maduro

Binder: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan Ometepe Esteli & Jalapa

Visual Inspection: The wrapper is dark and rustic. The cap and seams are noticeable, it is clear that a lower grade wrapper has been used on this stick, however for the sub $10.00 MSRP, I do not really mind. Although the construction looks less refined than you might expect from an Opus or something of the sort, I do not see any structural issues that concern me. The band fits perfectly with the look and feel of the cigar, and is not too tight.

Cold Draw: Barnyard floor, sweet, hay, hints of black liquorice and leather.

First Third: When I frist read the blend info about this cigar I was really excited. Two of my favorite tobaccos (Mexican San Andres, and Ometepe) are included in this blend. The San Andres Wrapper comes in immediately, I do not sense the Ometepe as of yet. The barnyard floor flavor is still there however I have lost the leather, hay, and sweetness that I saw on the cold draw.

Although this is not my first time with a Valacari, this is my first time with the Nobility, which is one of their new core lines, and they never disappoint when it comes to flavor and quality of construction. The Nobility is burning even, and is providing a beautiful gray/white ash.

About half way through the first third the cigar is waking up a bit, leather, barnyard floor, and some wonderful spice.

Second Third: Smoke production on this cigar leaves nothing to be desired. It produces thick plumes of beautiful whitish smoke. The second third is definitely where the cigar stands its ground. Slight amounts of sweet, barnyard floor, leather, and hay. These flavors are well blended and the spice is just right.

Final Third: Transitioning into the final third, the cigar maintains much of the flavor and character from the second third, with the welcomed addition of a bit of sweet cream.

Final Thoughts: Although not an overwhelmingly unique experience, this Valacari Nobility is a strong contender for a superb daily smoker. Priced right, with good flavors, the Nobility is perfect for a round of golf, mowing the lawn, or tinkering in the garage. I will for sure revisit this cigar.
